Thanks so much Hands on London for donating 1,000 surplus children’s coats! We appreciate support of Diamond Transport Solutions and Daugavas Vanagu Fonds Lielbritānijā with transportation of the donation to Latvia. We are grateful to Latvijas bernu fonds for coordinating distribution within Latvia. And thanks to all the volunteers who have helped with this project! So many young hearts warmed this Christmas!
The map shows the beneficiaries in Latvia:
– 9 children crisis centres received 525 children’s coats (Allažu atbalsta centrs, Zantes krīžu centrs, “Rasas pērles” Balvos, Dobeles centrs, “Laipas” Ogrē, “Dzeguzīte” Koknesē, “Mūsmājas” Krāslavā, Samarieši “Māras centrs”, “Valdardze” Valmierā)
– 5 special needs children’s centres received 350 children’s coats (“Apeirons”, “Cimdiņš” Ventspilī, “Oranžais stars” Jelgavā, Latvijas Spina bifida biedrība, “Māriņa” Aucē)
– SOS Children’s Villages in Latvia, Valmiera branch received 75 coats
– Latvian Children’s Fund will distribute further 50 children’s coats among larger families from rural areas.
